Michael Howell : Non-Executive Chairman
Michael Howell has a wealth of experience in the transport and electrical machines industry from his previous roles at Cummins Engine Company, General Electric Company, Fenner, FPT Group Ltd and the Railtrack Group. His most recent roles include that of CEO at TIE (formerly Transport Initiatives Edinburgh), responsible for Edinburgh’s major transport schemes. Michael Howell studied Engineering and Economics at Cambridge University, and has MBAs from both INSEAD and Harvard Business School. He is currently the Chairman of the City & Guilds of London Institute.
David Latimer : Chief Executive Officer
Dave Latimer has extensive experience managing specialist engineering businesses. His focus has often been on turnaround situations requiring improvements to supply chain or manufacturing operations. His career has included time with Rolls Royce, Howden, FKI and Weir. Whilst with FKI he spent 5 years as Managing Director of Brush HMA b.v. – a manufacturer of high power electrical machines. Dave has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Bristol and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
Dr Michael Lampérth : Chief Technology Officer & Founder
Dr. Lampérth was appointed lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College in 1999 following a PhD at the same university. He came to the UK from Switzerland in 1996 to study at Imperial College. Before this, he was active in industrial research and development at Kissling Ltd in Switzerland where he was working on machine design software www.kisssoft.ch. Prior to this he studied Mechanical Engineering at the Winterthur Polytechnic after having done a apprenticeship at the MSW in Winterthur. As a lecturer, he has contributed to the research in hybrid power systems and medical robotics both of which are mechatronics systems and, thus, are combining mechanical and electrical engineering to find optimal solutions.
Ivor Thomas : Chief Financial Officer
Ivor Thomas has held a number of board positions, including Chief Financial Officer of three UK listed companies. He has worked in a number of different manufacturing environments and has extensive experience of M&A deals, re-organisations and fund raisings. He has worked with VC backed hi-tech … companies in Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer positions one of which he led in a trade sale to a NASDAQ listed company for $210m. He is a Chartered Accountant and has a B.Sc. in Mathematics.
Christopher J Nash : Non-Executive Director
Christopher Nash is the Senior Independent Director of Hutchison China Meditech Limited and a non-executive director of NTR plc. He was most recently CEO of AIM listed company Hydrodec Group plc. He has had a 25 year business career during which he was Senior Vice President and Group Head of Strategy and Corporate Finance at Global Crossing Ltd. In the mid 1990s he was Group Head of Corporate Finance at Cable and Wireless plc, and before that a Director of North West Water International Ltd. He originally trained as a Civil Engineer at Imperial College, London and, after completing an MBA at Manchester Business School, worked for S.G. Warburg and Co. Ltd., followed by a period in the venture capital sector.
Robert Bahns : Non-Executive Director
Robert Bahns is the Investment Director at Imperial Innovations. Robert has over twenty years experience in industry and finance. Previously, he was a director in the technology investment team at Nomura International plc where he led investments in the semiconductor and wireless space. He is trained as an electronics engineer and worked in Japan for Pioneer Electronics, both in R&D and in the establishment of the company’s first UK manufacturing facility. Robert has an MBA from Insead and an Electrical Sciences degree from Cambridge University.
Michael Fairbrother : Non-Executive Director
Michael Fairbrother is the current Finance Director of European Operations at GKN plc. (LSE:GKN) Previously Michael has been Financial Controller at GKN Driveline division and has held various operational and finance positions with Wagon Automotive.
